Most learner motorcycle and moped riders must take compulsory basic training (CBT). You then have to pass your full motorcycle test within 2 years or you'll have to take CBT again.

Booking your CBT with DnJ

  • Our normal start time is 9.30am - please arrive at 9.00am
  • CBT requires one day but there is no time scale
  • If you wear glasses bring them as you will need to do a basic sight test
  • Ensure you have read the offical highway code
  • Bring your driving licence with you
  • Wear sturdy shoes or boots (preferable)
  • The CBT fee includes use of our safety equipment: helmet, gloves, jacket, trousers and waterproofs
  • The CBT course consists of
    • time in our classroom for theory,
    • on scooter or bike in our private enclosed training yard and
    • finally time spent on the road
  • DnJ also offer their own CBT Upgrade course to move from automatic to geared

During this introduction you will be told what to expect on the day

You will be told all suitable steps you can take in preparation for your CBT day

Do I have to do my mototrcyle theory test before doing CBT?
No. You are only required to take your motorcycle theory test prior to taking your full mototrcycle licence
